A sample of participatory environmental education, based on applying experiences of ecosystem approach in Iranian wetlands management

In this lecture by representing Arnstein participation ladder and participation models, the level of participation among local community and different stakeholders in management of the Iranian wetlands and protected areas has been discussed. Then by introducing different steps of preparation Khorkhoran wetland management plan, done based on the ecosystem approach, efforts and results of this process has been explained.

Using local knowledge, the bottom-up planning and efforts to gain collaboration between different stakeholders for sustainable conservation of this precious wetland and biosphere reserve was the main issue in this type of planning, called ecosystem approach.
