Introductory Meeting of the Environmental Education Chair with Science Department of the National Commission for UNESCO

The meeting was held in Payam e Noor University on 4 December 2017 with the aim of introducing the UNESCO Chair on environmental education with participation of  Director of the Department of Science in the National Commission for UNESCO of Iran, Dr. Gazani, as well as an expert from the same department, and from the chair, Dr. Shobeiri, the head, Secretary, Heads of Working Groups and different units .

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Gazani highlighted the need for having UNESCO chairs in terms of capacity building in UNESCO's activities, particularly in the area of relationship between education and natural sciences. During the three-hour meeting, Dr. Shobeiri, along with his colleagues, made a full introduction of his colleagues, the organizational chart, implemented activities, work plan, working groups as well as different units of the chair. He also informed the audience about signed MOUs with different bodies which are under implementation.

It should be noted that the chair is consist of following working groups and units:

Waste, climate change, environmental Security and passive defense, participatory protection, religions and environmental education, content analysis and also education and research, information technology, planning and project control units.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Gazani, expressed full satisfaction in terms of progress of the activities already conducted by the chair, announcing that the scope of joint collaborations with other natural science chairs would be examined in the regular meetings that Natural Science Department is holding every two month,
