Date of Workshop:
Thursday, 6 December 2018

The workshop was held with the scientific support of UNESCO Chair on Environmental Education on 6 December 2018, on the sidelines of the first International Exhibition on Waste Management, Recycling, and the Related Machinery and Equipment, held at Shahre-Aftab International Exhibition Center in Tehran. Director of Environmental Affairs of Tetra Pak Company was lecturer of the workshop. The speaker explained the economic cycle resulting from recycling and spoke about Multi-layer packaging, known as Tetra Pak in Iran. Multi-layers cartons are recycled to granular and PVC, which are most commonly used in industry. Tetra Pak cartons have been widely used as a convenient packaging for dairy, beverages and other products in Iran. Considering the fact that about 20,000 tons of multi-layer packages are produced and used in Iran and many of the imported products are packaged by multi-layer packaging, the recycling and waste management of Tetra Pak have become an inevitable necessity in the country. The first recycling plant of this product has been already launched in Iran.
