Virtual meeting on tourism and environmental education

Tourism is a profitable global industry that interacts with the environment outside its purpose, type of tourism and its dimensions. However, in some types of tourism such as eco-tourism, this factor is more noticeable and if environmental considerations are not attended, it will cause irreparable damages. We must strive to inform all stakeholders of tourism, including tourists, tour leaders, local communities, policy makers and decision makers in the field of tourism through environmental education, about the positive and negative impacts of tourism. Environmental education organizations must try to improve behaviors of stakeholders according to their role in order to lead to stability and improvement of socio-economic conditions rather than environmental degradation.

Iran, with its unique characteristics in terms of tourism attractions, should strive for a more sustainable tourism expansion.
